Water Smart Landscapes Rebate (from www.snwa.com)
The Water Smart Landscapes rebate helps property owners convert water-thirsty grass to desert landscaping, a lush yet water-efficient landscape.
SNWA will rebate customers $1.50 per square foot of grass removed and replaced with desert landscaping up to the first 5,000 square feet converted per property, per year. Beyond the first 5,000 feet, SNWA will provide a rebate of $1 per square foot.
The maximum award for any property in a fiscal year is $300,000. Certain restrictions apply to well owners. For more information, including terms and requirements, view the program conditions.

Apply online or call 258-SAVE for a printed application. You also can request an information packet on the program. Before you get started, SNWA will answer your questions and review the lawn areas you're converting. You must participate in a pre-conversion site visit before removing your lawn. Starting without SNWA approval will make your conversion ineligible.

Cash In
After you upgrade, you'll get a cash rebate for every square foot of lawn converted to water-smart landscaping. Every square foot of grass replaced with water-smart trees, shrubs and flowers saves an average of 55 gallons of water per year, so you'll also save money on your monthly water bill.

The Water Smart Landscape rebate program has helped the community upgrade more than 130 million square feet of lawn to water-efficient landscaping, saving the community billions of gallons of water.
Watering Schedule
All Southern Nevada water customers are assigned mandatory watering groups. While in the summer, water customers may irrigate landscapes any day of the week, landscape irrigation is limited to assigned days during the other seasons.
In the spring and fall, irrigation is allowed on three assigned days per week. In the winter, irrigation is limited to one assigned day per week.
Watering restrictions also apply to drip irrigation. Find your watering group.

Watering Restrictions:
- From May 1 until Oct. 1, landscape watering is prohibited from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Exceptions to current watering restrictions include hand-watering, supervised sprinkler system testing and watering new or reseeded landscapes for 30 days. Some water agencies have special requirements to obtain the exemption. Contact your water supplier for details.
